East Surrey Operatic Society
 

Based in the Reigate and Redhill area, ESOS was formed in 1906 "to provide an opportunity for its members to develop their interest in opera and drama, by the production of operatic and music works, concerts and plays".

East Surrey Operatic SocietyThe Society has around two hundred members and presents an annual production in March at The Harlequin Theatre, Redhill, following rehearsals beginning in October. Recent presentations have included such musicals as Sweeney Todd, 42nd Street and Guys and Dolls.

Opera Club of Reigate and Redhill
 

Opera Club or Reigate and RedhillThe Opera Club was founded in 1952, initially specialising in the works of Gilbert & Sullivan, but now including a wider range of shows which are performed in The Harlequin Theatre, Redhill in October each year. They also occasionally present popular concerts, featuring songs from operetta, musicals, opera and the current West End shows.

The group rehearses in Reigate on Monday and Thursday evenings and they also hold various social activities. They welcome new members, both acting and non-acting (and of all ages), so if you would like to join this thriving and friendly club, please telephone Julia Rogers on 07860 933229.

Oxted Operatic Society
 

Oxted Operatic SocietyOxted Operatic Society are the main resident Society at the Barn Theatre, Oxted, performing two amateur musicals each year (April & November) plus a junior production (July).

Established in 1947, this vibrant Society has now presented in excess of 100 shows at the Barn and enjoys a reputation for the quality of its productions, as evidenced by a number of NODA awards, most recently for Mack & Mabel (2009).

Rehearsals take place at St Peter’s Hall, Limpsfield on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Society is well supported by both adult and junior acting members, together with an enthusiastic body of Patrons and Vice Presidents.

Surrey Opera
 

Surrey Opera was founded in 1970 by Joyce Hooper MBE. Its aim is to provide a high professional standard of opera at affordable prices. Standards are kept uniformly high under the Artistic Directorship of well-known conductor Jonathan Butcher.

They usually perform two fully staged operas or occasional crossover musical theatre piece or operetta, with professional soloists in the Surrey, Kent, West Sussex area every year. Every other year Surrey Opera is invited to take a production to the world-famous Minack Theatre on the cliffs at Porthcurno, Cornwall .

The chorus consists of dedicated amateur singers; entry to the chorus is by simple audition. Rehearsals are generally held on Monday and / or Thursday evenings and occasionally at weekends, in Croydon.
